• The 39 survivors of Norwegian tanker Tankexpress, sunk by German submarine U-130 three days earlier, saw the silhouettes of several warships coming straight towards them in the evening, proving to be a British flotilla and they were all taken aboard HMS Lightning. ww2dbase [HM]

Reuchlin, Czechoslovakian Minister Mr. Havlicek and consular officials from Yokohama and Kobe, and other British and foreign nationals.
