Wreck of M-49 Found

After a 20-year search, a remote-controlled underwater vehicles operated from Russian Navy rescue vessel Igor Belousov discovered the wreck of Soviet submarine M-49 in early Apr 2025. The submarine most likely entered a friendly minefield south of Vladivostok, Russia in Aug 1941 and struck a mine. All 22 aboard were lost. For more information:
