ww2dbaseThe Moschetto Automatico Beretta 1938A submachine guns, or MAB 38 for short, were originally designed by Tullio Marengoni in 1935. They became the official submachine guns of the Italian Army since 1938. They could be fired in fully automatic or single shot modes, selectable by the use of two triggers. They were produced past the Italian Armistice in 1943. In 1944, the design was drastically simplified, which was necessitated by the limitations during war time. In addition to the Italian Army, they were also used by German and Romanian forces during WW2. After the war, the Argentine Army also adopted them. Variants of the MAB 38 design were built until 1975.Source: Wikipedia. ww2dbase
