Red border around National Insignia dates this between 28-Jun-1943 and 14-Sep-1943 (red border only lasted three-and-a-half months).

The number one aircraft is a P-40E-1, the second aircraft is a P-40F-15CU, which has the longer aft fuselage and redesigned tail. Aircraft number three is a P-40L-5CU like the P-40F, the P-40L-5CU was powered by the Merlin engine and had no carburetor scoop on top of the nose.

Aircraft number one is a P-40E-1. The second aircraft is a P-40F-15-CU, which has the longer aft fuselage and redesigned tail. Aircraft number three is a P-40-5-CU. Like the P-40F, and the P-40L was powered by the Merlin engine and had no carburetor scoop on top of the nose.
