MYSTERY M6A1-K NANZAN:
After WWII one M6A1-K Nanzan prototype aircraft was shipped back to the USA. Several photographs of this or the other M6A1-K Nanzan have been published over the years with tail number Ko-M6-6
Photo shows no tail number, so let's assume this is Ko-M6-6 other photographs show the number on the tail. Aircraft was assigned to the Aviation
Technical Flight Testing Station, Ko is for the Yokosuka Naval Air Technical Arsenal the "M" indicates aircraft is used for special testing number, "6" is for the sixth special purpose aircraft built by Aichi and the last "6" is the individual aircraft number.
During testing prototype aircraft were painted overall orange in color however, with allied aircraft sweeps over the empire, aircraft were now painted orange on the undersurfaces and dark green upper surfaces.
