AVIATION IN JAPAN:
Did you know that the Imperial Japanese Army
Air Force contracted civilian flight schools to train
pilots and d crews. This was done to take the work load off Army flight schools.
The Tachikawa Ki55 was the trainer version of the Ki-36 both aircraft were give the code name of "Ida"
ARMY AIR FORCE STRENGHT 1940
The (IJAAF) had 33,000 personnel, over 1,600 a/c
1,375 first-line fighters, organized into 83 squadrons 36 fighter, 28 light bomber and 22 medium bomber.
ARMY AIR ARSENAL:
First Tachikawa Army Arsenal Aviation Research
& Development. Tachikawa Hikoki K.K. & Rikugun
Kokukosho K.K. were army owned and operated aircraft manufacturing Company.
A Ki-36 "Ida" was operated by the Japanese Asahi Newspaper Co. as J-BAAR
