i assume this was provided to the KMT in the late 20s or early 30s before the German-Japanese alliance grew closer and the Germans stopped selling weapons to the Chinese

CHINESE TRANSPORT:

File photo shows Heinkel He-111A-0 (XT-ATC) served as a VIP/Transport aircraft owned by CATC Central Air Transport Co. that was a Chinese Cargo/Airline and not to be confused with CNAC
Chinese National Airways Corp.
Check out the two-blade propellers, engines were replaced from a DC-2 those
were Curtiss/Wright 800hp

Aircraft carries the Zhong Insignia, signified aircraft was a CATC transport and not an CNAC aircraft, tail number is Chung 2 meaning 2nd CATC Aircraft.
Later crashed on take-off at Kunming in 1944, and was damaged beyond repair or(written-off) If anyone has more information post it here I'd like to read about it...
