I was on the USS Carl Vinson at Cubi Point NAS when the New Jersey was in Manilla. We took a Jeepney from Olongapo to Manilla. Awesome tour. I still have the little green booklet they gave out with the tour. I still remember what it said about the 16" Guns as used in Viet Nam: A single 16" round would disintegrate everything to the ground for 100 meters and make a 60 diameter crater. A full broadside would take everything to the ground for a square mile (not exact but close 33 year old memory not too bad).
