- US President Truman summoned Secretary of Defense George Marshall, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Omar Bradley, Secretary of State Dean Acheson, and Averill Harriman. Marshall and Bradley voice opinions against Douglas MacArthur's strategy for the Korean War despite US Joint Chiefs of Staff's preliminary planning for allowing MacArthur to attack Chinese airfields. ww2dbase [Douglas MacArthur | CPC]
