- Rear Admiral Frederic R. Harris retired from the United States Navy after 24 years of service and entered the private sector. For his exemplary service as Chief of the Bureau of Yards and Docks during World War I, Harris was awarded the Navy Cross. ww2dbase [Frederic Harris | DS]
