  • The USAAF 306th Bomb Group flying from RAF Thurleigh launched a bombing raid against the airfield at Gymnich, Germany but thick clouds, persistent anti-aircraft fire, and crowded skies pushed the formation off course so that most of their bombs landed on Bliesheim, Germany, eight miles off-target. ww2dbase [Bombing of Hamburg, Dresden, and Other Cities | RAF Thurleigh | Gymnich | DS]
