ww2dbaseIn 1942, the Russian Army requested for a new machine gun to replace the obsolete M1910 Maxim machine guns. In May 1943, the SG-43 Goryunov gas-operated machine guns were introduced into service. They were designed by P. M. Goryunov and manufactured at the Kovrov plant. They were typically mounted on either wheels, tripods, or directly on vehicles. After the war, modernized variants such as SGM, SGMT (for tanks), and SGMB (for armored cars) were introduced for both domestic use as well as for export to other communist countries, such as China and Vietnam. They were retired from Russian service in 1960, while other Soviet countries used them until 1968.Source: Wikipedia. ww2dbase

Citação Famosa da 2ª GM
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."Winston Churchill
