ww2dbaseIn 1938, Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov designed the PTRS-41 semi-automatic gas operated anti-tank rifles, which entered production in 1941. Initially effective against early German tanks, like their PTRD-41 cousins, they were unable to penetrate the thicker armor of later German tanks. Muzzle flash was also an issue, with soldiers complaining that it often exposed their firing positions. Nevertheless, they remained in popular use largely because they continued to be effective weapons against unarmored vehicles, or simply used against the tracks of German tanks, disabling rather than destroying them. PTRS-41 anti-tank rifles captured by Germans were placed into service under the designation of Panzerbüchse 784(r) or PzB 784(r). After WW2, they were used by communist forces of North Korea and China during the Korean War.Source: Wikipedia. ww2dbase

No one can walk around fire that rifle like in effing cock of doody. That rifle is 45 lbs and the kick of the rifle would knock you down. It was NEVER used as an infantrymen's primary weapon. A small group of soldiers had to set it up far in front of armored vehicles and use it against vehicles.
