ww2dbaseThe 75 mm Schneider-Danglis 06/09 mountain guns were designed by either Engineering Corps Major Panagiotis Lykoudis or Artillery Major Panagiotis Danglis, both were of the Greek Army, and both claimed credit for the work in 1893. The Greek Army showed little interest in the design immediately and failed to issue any orders. Danglis was able to convince French armaments firm Schneider-Creusot, forerunner of the modern-day firm Schneider Electric, to produce them in the early 1900s; prototype development and testing were completed between Nov 1905 and Jun 1906. Meanwhile, Lykoudis went to German armaments firm Krupp at around the same time. In 1907, the Greek Army decided to an order for the guns of Schneider manufacture while ignoring those by Krupp. These weapons were used by Greek forces during the Balkan Wars, WW1, and WW2. Finland purchased a number of them from Greece and operated them under the designation of 75 LK 13; they were used against the Soviets during the Winter War. The Soviet forces inherited a number of them from the Russian forces which they had replaced; their 76 mm mountain gun M1909 (76-09) weapons saw action in the war against Germany; a few of them were captured by the Germans and were pressed into service under the designation 7.62 cm GebK 293(r).Source: Wikipedia ww2dbase
