ww2dbaseArmenak Artem Khanferiants was born in 1902 into an Armenian family in the village of Mets Takhlar in the Elisabethpol Governorate of the Russian Empire (now in Azerbaijan) and later moved to Baku, the capital of the Baku Governorate to the east (now also in Azerbaijan), to work in the oil fields. Having joined the Bolsheviks, he played a role in the organization of the Red Guards of Baku in Apr 1918. While in Astrakhan in southern Russia, he neared drowned, saved only by his friend Sergei Alexandrovich Khudyakov; after Khudyakov was killed during the Russian Civil War, Khanferiants adopted Khudyakov's name to honor him. In 1929, Khudyakov enrolled in the Tiflis Cavalry School in the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic. Between 1931 and 1936, he enrolled in the Zhukovskii Military Air Academy in Moscow, Russia. In the late 1930s, he was promoted very rapidly, reaching the status of the chief of staff of the Soviet Air Force by the time German invaded the Soviet Union, with personal command over 1st Air Army. In Feb 1945, he was a military advisor to Joseph Stalin during the Yalta Conference. As the commanding officer of Soviet 12th Air Army, he participated in the invasion of Japanese-occupied northeastern China, also known as Manchuria. Sergei Khudyakov was arrested in Dec 1945, accused of being a spy for the British. He was found guilty and executed in Apr 1950. He was buried at the Donskoy Monastery cemetery in Moscow. Khudyakov was rehabilitated in 1954 after Stalin's death.

Azerbaijan is called "Azerbaijan" since 1918, before that it was Arran and Caucasian Albania...
Armenia is called "Armenia" since 6 BC...How can u say "present day Armenia"...and what was it called before? lol Armenia is the only country from the first ever map (Babylonian) and has never changed its name. In Akkadian inscriptions Armenia is called Armani...
