Letters from Iwo Jima Wins Oscar for Sound Editing

The Academy Award of Merit for Best Sound Editing is an award granted to a film exhibiting the finest or most aesthetic sound editing or sound design. This year at the 79th Academy Awards that honor went to Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman for the film Letters from Iwo Jima. The film was also nominated for, but did not win three other categories including the coveted titles of Best Picture and Best Director.
