OUT OF THE FIGHT:
Villers Bocage knocked out Panzer Mk.IV left and right Tiger 112 of s.SS.Pz.Abt.101 how did these tanks get themselves boxed in like this.
Urban warfare isn't open tank country its closed in with streets, too many corners and blind alleys. Soldiers with portable weapons like bazookas can hide and fire at tanks from anywhere.

A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER:
Tanks that operate in urban areas need infantry support to protect the flanks and to engage any enemy infantry that could be hiding in building with anti-tank weapons.
The Panzer Mk.IV on the Tigers right, belonged to the 2nd Battalion, 130th Panzer Lehr Regiment.
HOTEL IMPOSSIBLE:
Damaged building in background L'Hotel de Ville in beautiful downtown Villers-Bocage.

HEAVY FIGHTING:
Knocked out Panzer Mk IV of Panzer Lehr, on the left, and a Tiger of 1st Kompanie, 1stSS
on the right.
Location Villers-Bocage France, June 1944 Its hard to see in the photo where the two tanks got hit, but you can see damage to the Mk IVs roadwheels.
Panzer Lehr: This unit suffered heavy losses from Allied attacks.
By the end of June 1944 division armored strength was depleted, during the fighting around Caen the division suffered 2,500 casulties and lost 102 tanks.
Looking at the photo is interesting, rubble all around, but the street is fairly clear?
