The M-19 was based on a lengthened M-24
chassis, the engine was moved behind the
driver's compartment.

The M-19 carried twin-bofors 40mm cannons
each firing 120 rpm. The M-19 carried 320 rounds onboard, some vehicles towed added
ammo in special M-28 trailers.

Powered by Two V-8 engines of 110 hp each.
Crew 5 men, speed 35mph, weight 19 tons
number built 285. Deployed to Europe in Apr
1945, so the M-19 didn't see significant combat. During the war, Chrysler built over
60,000 Bofors guns and 120,000 barrels.

Did You Know...

Both the Allies and the Axis used vairants of
the Bofors gun.

Serving in Vietnam, I was able to fire and
load the 40mm Bofors mounted on M-42 Duster
