The Hetzer, was based on the captured Czech 38 light tank. To get more use out of the design, the Germans modified them into tank-destroyers.
During the Warsaw Uprising the Germans lost 300 tanks and armored vehicles and other military equipment.
The Germans suffered between 7,000 to 9,000 KIA, Poliish losses were 10,000 KIA and between 150,000 to 200,000 civilians killed.
The Hetzer was armed with a 3in Pak 39 L/48 anti-tank gun and a 7.92 MG42. Even during the last month of the war, about 120 of the Hetzer's were delivered to the German army.
After WWII the Hetzer was used by the Czech
Army and Switzerland and remained in Swiss service until 1970.
