This pic looks like one from Vietnam not WW2. Note the plastic canteen lids and also the butt stock of the carried by the third soldier in the column, looks like and M16.

The tropoper closest to the camera, and the one in the middle, are also wearing "Flack Jackets". Common for Vietnam, and while some body armour was experimented with in WW2 it was rare, and not an issue item for ground troops.

I agree with the others, trooper in mid stream appears to have jungle fatigues with cargo pockets and the elastic bands on the helmets have been seen on WWII soldiers but were more typical on army helmets in Vietnam although also seen on Marines.

Canteens in image (Lower Right) are OD plastic canteens. This image is thus dated to Vietnam.
