Source captioning says the ship was “being moved by tugs at the Kaiser Shipbuilding Yard at Vancouver, Washington, 25th March” but this date is unlikely. The absence of the colors flying from the mast suggest this photo was taken prior to her 9 Mar 1944 commissioning. Also, on 25 Mar 1944, USS Sargent Bay was in Bremerton, Washington.
