Jesse Kupferberg was a Technical Sergeant in the US Army Air Forces who participated in Project Alberta, the group tasked with transporting and assembling the two atomic bombs in 1945. He and Laurence both flew in the B-29 “Great Artiste” to observe the Nagasaki mission.
