Nakajima B6N2 "Jill" torpedo bombers on the flight line engines warming up, for a training mission.
I don't see torpedos carried, aircraft are equipped with type 3 air to surface radar mounting Yagi antennas on the leading edge of the wing, and on the fuselage sides you can see shadows from the antennas along the fuselage side.
The 'Jill" was active during the last two years of the war, flew conventional as well as Kamikaze attacks around Okinawa.
One "Jill" survives today, and is being restored by the National Air & Space Museum
Washington, D.C. This is the same aircraft that was on outdoor display for years, at the Willow Grove NAS Pa., USA.
