Petrof Bay didn't arrive in San Pedro until June 19. Given she went into the drydock first, and then a destroyer and ten LCIs were positioned behind her and the drydock drained, this photo could not have been taken any earlier than June 20, 21. Characterizing it as "about June 14" is inaccurate.

You are correct. A date in June 1945 is inaccurate for this photo. Both USS Petrof Bay and USS Mustin entered the drydock on 1 Jul 1945 and were floated out on 30 Jul 1945. The caption has been adjusted accordingly and thank you for pointing this out.

On the west coast of the United States, only the drydocks at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard were larger than this. At the far forward end of the drydock is the escort carrier USS Petrof Bay. At the right edge is the Sims-class destroyer USS Mustin. The remainder of the drydock is filled with ten LCI landing ships.
