She was seen here engraving Chinese characters "Seven Nine Bren - Canada...". The "Seven Nine" probably referred to the 7.92x57mm Mauser ammunition used by these Bren guns specifically made for Nationalist Chinese use. Normally the Bren gun used .303 British (7.7×56mmR) ammunition.
