KILLER ELITE: EAT LEAD
The F4U Corsair was armed with 6 x .50 caliber machine guns, that gave the pilot (30) thirty seconds of fire from 2,400 rounds of ammo, or 400 rounds per gun fired in three and six second burst.
During its wartime production, over (500) five hundred engineering changes were made to the F4U Corsair to correct faults. Did you know by the end of 1944 Chance-Vought was building 300 Corsairs a month, or one complete aircraft every 82 minutes! Corsair production ran from 1940 to
1953 with a total of 12,571 fighters.
