The Japanese text roughly translates as:

To the Japanese military commanders of Nauru and Ocean:
1. His Imperial Majesty commands -- All Japanese army, navy, and air forces are to surrender unconditionally.
Australian Army has dispatched personnel to Nauru and Ocean islands. Estimated arrival date for Nauru is 8 September. Estimated arrival date for Ocean is 22 September.
2. Japanese commanders at Nauru and Ocean islands are to assist the Australian officers during the process.

Lieutenant General Sturdee, Australian First Army
