My oldest brother was a turret gunner on an Avenger TB and was involved in the battle for Rabaul, he received the silver star for his actions. On return to the States he was killed in a training mission. I was only four years old at the time, all of my siblings are gone now and I would appreciate any information on his service. He flew off of the carrier Bunker Hill.
