Note that the time listed on the dispatch is 1940 hours. This was Greenwich Mean Time (GMT, now UTC or Zulu). Until 1947, the time difference between Hawaii and GMT was 10.5 hours - so on Dec 7, 1941, 1940 GMT was 0910 hours Hawaiian time and 1440 hours in Washington, DC. Either way, this dispatch was broadcast while the Pearl Harbor attack was still taking place, 75 minutes after it started and 35 minutes before it ended.
