While he was at Binbrook the Australian Prime Minister, Mr John Curtin, who was on a morale-boosting visit for Australians serving in Great Britain, was shown over the squadron's veteran G-George, which by then had completed 90 trips with 460 squadron. The aircraft was flown to Australia in October 1944 and today is displayed in the Australian War Memorial Museum in Canberra. It is interesting to note that no other Lancaster which served with 460 Squadron exceeded 90 operations, a measure of the loss rate the squadron suffered while flying from Binbrook.
