ENEMY SURRENDERED:

Photo shows Soviet troops on the left and captured Wehrmacht troops on the right.
Russians are dressed in warm winter coats, while the Germans are trying to keep warm, without any type of winter uniforms.

THROW NOTHING AWAY:

During WWII the Soviets captured vast amounts of German equipment, what could be used, salvaged or refurnished later went into storage after WWII.

STORE THEM JUST IN CASE:

Did you know that during the Cold War captured German arms were brought out of storage and issued to client states and second-line units that used such equipment well into the 1970's and 1980's...
WWII lend-lease trucks, jeeps and other military equipment was still being used by Soviet forces long after the end of WWII.
Radar sets given under lend-lease were improved by the Russians with some of the original equipment was still in operation along the Chinese/Soviet border.
