Three Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero fighters along with one Mitsubishi Ki-46 Dinah that were surrendered to the RNZAF.
One Zero that was captured at Kara airstrip
A6M3 Model 22 survives today and is on display at the Auckland War Museum.

The Japanese surrendered four Mitsubishi A6M Zeros/Zeke and one Mitsubishi Ki-46 "Dinah"
on September 9, 1945. Four Zeros were later
flown by the Japanese, with an escort of RAAF
F4U Corsairs to Jacquinot Bay. Two Zeros were
turned over to the RAAF, one of the fighters later turned up in Polk City,Florida, USA at the Fantasy of Flight Museum, parts of the other Zero, is on display at Hamamatsu JASDF AB Japan. Parts of the others are in storage at the Australian War Museum what happended to the Ki-46 is unknown.
