FAST FOOD: EAT AND RUN
Soldiers the world over eat their meals standing up. Let me tell you, I did my share of standing and eating. Even when I returned home from Vietnam in 1970 I would catch myself standing chowing down.
Rommel's sdKfz 250/3 Command Vehicle was named "Greif / Griffin" it carried long-range radio equipment Rommel is eating his meal centered
between the bedframe antennas. Later models carried whip antennas. Check out Rommel's British dust goggles part of captured equipment
put to use.
Weapon carried were one or two 7.92mm MG34 machine guns, plus the crews personal weapons
MP-40, Kar-98, grenades and pistols.
CAPTURED VEHICLES:
Rommel's Afrika Korps made use of captured British vehicles along with food, water, medical supplies, uniforms, fuel and oil, weapons and ammunition Some of his forces even used Italian vehicles.
Convertible in foreground looks like a Humber command car I'm guessing here photo isn't clear enough. After WWII many of these surviving vehicles remained in post-war service into the 1950s. Vehicle in background could be a Bedford light truck. If anyone has more information, post it here at ww2db...
