Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."Winston Churchill

Lockheed P-38M-6-LO Lightning two-seat night
fighter. About 80 aircraft were modified
this way equipped with AN/APS-6 radar pod
below the nose.
The second cockpit and canopy was for the radar operator and had limited headroom most operators were short in height, but even then it was a tight squeeze.
The night-fighters saw some combat missions near the end of the war. The rest of the
P-38s modified as night-fighters, were scrapped at the end of the war.
