VICTORY OVER JAPAN

The proceedings opened at 09:08 AM, as 450
aircraft from Task Force 38, roared overhead
General MacArthur, stated:

We are gathered here, to conclude a soleum agreement whereby Peace may be restored.
At the end of the surrender ceremony, and
closing the instrument of surrender, the
General stated, these proceedings are closed

MacArthur turning to Halsey said, Bill where the hell, are all those airplanes? and almost
as if on queue 400 B-29's and 1,500 carrier
aircraft flew over, towards the direction of
Mount Fujiyama.
The United States, had been at war for 1,365
days.
