LOST AT PEARL: NEVER FIRED A SHOT

Aircraft could be an early SBD-1 or a SBD-2 used by Marine Scout Bombing Squadron-232 (VMSB-232).
First deliveries to the US Navy of SBD-2s started in 1940, by 1941 before the US entered WWII, Douglas was building about twenty SBDs a month.

During the Attack, US Marine SBDs were destroyed on the ground at Ewa Mooring Mast Field (VMSB-232).

Did You Know:
During the attack 18 SBDs from the carrier Enterprise(CV-6)arrived over Pearl two groups
Scout Bombing (VS-6) lost 6 aircraft, and
Bombing Squadron (VB-6) lost 1 aircraft.
