ww2dbaseThe Xi'an Airfield (Postal Map romanization: Hsi'an) in Shaanxi Province, China was the base for photographic reconnaissance variant of US P-38 Lightning aircraft during WW2, although several P-61 Black Widow nightfighters were also based at this location. The Americans departed from this airfield after the end of the war. It was later converted to civilian use by the communist Chinese government, operating under the name of Xi'an Xiguan Airport until its closure on 1 Sep 1991 (after the completion of the larger Xi'an Xianyang International Airport).

Citação Famosa da 2ª GM
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."

Winston Churchill
