  • Gato-class submarine USS Silversides detected a convoy of five freighters and one tanker approaching Palau.   • Escort carrier USS Bogue and her task group arrived at Norfolk, Virginia. 46 prisoners from U-172 were turned over to shore authorities. Composite Squadron VC-19 disembarked Bogue.
