ww2dbaseAlthough initially designed as a civlian airliner, Ca.133 aircraft were soon discovered to be an economical aircraft capable of operating in harsh environments. As transports, reconnaissance aircraft, and even as light bombers, they were very successful during the Second Italo-Abyssinian War of 1935-1936. By the time of the Spanish Civil War in mid-1936, however, they were already deemed obsolete. Nevertheless, over 250 of them remained in service as transports in Italy even during the European War. The last military version of Ca.133 aircraft was retired from Italian service in 1947, while they served the civilian sector until 1956.
