ww2dbaseJiangwan Airfield (Postal Map romanization: Kiangwan) was used by the US Army Air Forces between 1942 and 1945. Toward the end of the war, it was the headquarters of the 1st Combat Cargo Group. After the war, starting in Oct 1945, it was also the home of the Air Technical Service Command. The Americans departed this airfield on 31 Dec 1947. Later, communist Chinese authorities operated the airfield as the civilian Jiangwan Airport for some years; it was later closed, the land re-zoned for urban development.
